Brennan Huff and Denise Smith met in the Spring of 2008. After experiencing a midlife crisis caused by a series of job interviews, and the news of his mother and stepfather’s plans to sail the world in their retirement, Brennan was forced to begin therapy with Dr. Smith. Although it was love at first sight, Denise chose to hide her feelings. All the while, Brennan attempted to make several advances, in which she consistently rejected, in fear of losing her professional license.
It wasn’t until they both attended a fundraiser Brennan was helping his brother with, The Catalina Wine Mixer, that Denise began to accept the future she foresaw with Brennan all along. They dated for seven years before getting engaged and are to be married this New Year’s Eve, in the treehouse of Brennan’s former home.
Without further adieu, I present to you the invitation suite of the future Mr. and Mrs. Huff!
A goal I had for myself this year was to try new styles of calligraphy, and to start updating my portfolio. I couldn’t help but to center the story of this pretend suite around one of my all-time favorite movies: Stepbrothers. The inspiration for its aesthetic was the opposite of the modern elements I typically reach for.
Oh, and I couldn’t find Denise’s last name for the life of me, so we’re just going to pretend it’s Smith.
