I found this quote on Pinterest last week, and couldn’t stop thinking about it for days, so I decided to make a wallpaper out of it. It came at the perfect time, because on Friday, I had one of the worst days at work, ever. I recently joined a new team, and they’re currently short-staffed, which means tons of work, for just a few people. As you all know, too much work = S T R E S S, and when certain people are stressed, it isn’t pretty.
Things were said, I got offended, and in an attempt to keep things professional, I kept my mouth shut. A part of me really wanted to lash out, because that always gives some sort of relief. But something was telling that I’d regret it, and that I wasn’t going to be adding to the solution, so I held back.
I let my thoughts stew all weekend, and come Monday, finally came to believe:
- By thinking about the situation so much, I gave the other person more power.
- I’m not going to get anywhere if I keep beating myself up.
- There are going to be bad apples everywhere I go. Might as well take every opportunity to deal with them, and become a stronger problem solver.
