I don’t share this with a lot of people, but aside from being a Girl Boss at The Fancy Cat Studio, I work as a full-time Marriage and Family Therapist. Every six months or so, my office gets the opportunity to hire several Masters-level interns, who do amazing work. But with any good thing, each intern’s time must come to an end because, unfortunately for us, they all eventually graduate.
With so many people coming in and out of our office, long before I even started, management came up with a way to cope with the constant changes to our team. Every time someone leaves, everyone in the office comes up with 1-4 words they feel best describes that person. The words are read out loud by the guest of honor at a goodbye dinner or brunch. In a way, it’s become some sort of a “goodbye ritual”, and it’s my job to compile the words and turn them into a keepsake. Here’s what I came up with for Audrey, an intern whose last day is tomorrow.
- The tag was created with black and white watercolors and Dr. Ph. Martin’s Copperplate Gold ink.
- The jar is a classic Mason Jar filled with Tinsel, stars cut from gold glitter paper, and words, written on printer paper.
- The ribbon is from an old Nordstrom gift box.
